Anna Howard’s analogue black-and-white photographs begin with a private act of searching. After her father’s death she naviagated Google Street View trying to find his image in the the neighbourhood where he had lived, He never appeared. Instead she encountered incidental figures – neighbours and passers-by, some already gone. The experience revealed a paradox; an environment saturated with digital records that still refuses personal reunion. For the exhibtion, Howard turns this process toward the area surrounding the gallery, tracing anonymous figures across adjacent Street View captures.
